Talk - Supporting your child in learning to read

20:00 – 22:00 22-03-2017
The Grosvenor Arms, 204, Garratt Lane, SW18 4ED

We are very excited to announce the details of our talk by Tara Coffin, fellow twin mum and a Deputy Head in a primary school.

The workshop will be about supporting your child in learning how to read.

It will cover:
Pre-reading skills
Phonics
High frequency words
Comprehension
Reading with your child (learn how to do it like a teacher would)
Making reading fun

There will be lots of sharing of tips, resources and chances to ask questions.

This is best suited to parents of children (twins or singletons) aged 3-7 years old.

We will be in the upstairs room of the pub. There is plenty of parking outside and it's a short walk from Earlsfield station, and is by Flip Out which you may have been to with your twins! Please note, the pub doesn't serve food.

Thanks to the generosity of Tara and the landlord of the pub, all profits made from this talk will go to the Ickle Pickles charity ( www.icklepickles.org ) a local charity that buys specialised equipment to help Neo-natal units provide incredible levels of care to premature and sick babies.
